  • Payment information: Payment is processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Stripe provides us with a transaction reference and limited card information (such as the last four digits) for order records.
  • Communications: Any messages you send to our support team.

  • Device information: Browser type, operating system, device type, and screen resolution.
  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and interactions with the Services.

  • Providing the Services: Processing your photos through AI transformation, creating your custom puzzle, and fulfilling your order.
  • AI processing: Your uploaded photos are sent to OpenAI through their API for artistic transformation. OpenAI processes these images to generate the styled variations you see. Per OpenAI's API data usage policy, images submitted through their API are not used to train their models.
  • Order fulfillment: Sharing your transformed image and shipping details with our third-party printing and fulfillment partners to manufacture and deliver your puzzle.
  • Customer support: Responding to your inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and processing replacement or refund requests.
  • Analytics and improvement: Understanding how the Services are used so we can improve them. This includes aggregated, non-identifying usage analytics.
  • Marketing: With your consent where required, measuring the effectiveness of our advertising and showing relevant ads on other platforms.
  • Legal compliance: Meeting our legal obligations, enforcing our Terms of Service, and protecting our rights and the safety of our users.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

  • AI processing provider (OpenAI): Your photos are sent to OpenAI for AI-powered artistic transformation. Only the photo data necessary for processing is shared.
  • Printing and fulfillment partners: Your transformed image and shipping address are shared with our third-party manufacturing and fulfillment partners to produce and deliver your puzzle.
  • Payment processor (Stripe): Your payment information is handled directly by Stripe.
  • Analytics providers: We use analytics services (such as Amplitude) to understand how the Services are used. These providers receive anonymized or pseudonymized data.
  • Advertising platforms: With your consent where required, we share limited data with advertising platforms (such as Meta) to measure ad performance. Data shared with Meta is hashed for privacy.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6. Data Retention

  • Photos: Uploaded photos and AI-generated images are retained for 180 days after order fulfillment (or after your last interaction if no order was placed) to support reprints and customer service requests. After this period, they are permanently deleted.
  • Order records: Order details (excluding photos) are retained for as long as necessary to comply with legal and accounting obligations, typically up to 7 years.
  • Account information: Your name and email are retained until you request deletion or until they are no longer needed for the purposes described in this policy.
  • Analytics data: Aggregated analytics data is retained indefinitely but does not contain personally identifiable information.

7. International Data Transfers

Meridia Inc. is based in the United States. Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.
